Chris Murphy M.A. (Mus.Ed), B.A. (Hons), ALCM, PGCE, has over thirty years international experience of teaching music to students of all ages from complete beginners to advanced level.

He has had wide professional experience both as a classroom and instrumental practitioner in specialist music schools, colleges and universities as well as in mainstream and special schools where he has taught the musically gifted as well as those with Special Educational Needs. He is registered with the General Teaching Council for England and is recognised by the DfEE as holding Qualified Teacher Status.

Chris Murphy is also a full member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (Musicians in Education Section). He has undergone enhanced disclosure checks with the CRB and has clearance for work with school aged children.

Chris Murphy offers music tuition in Clarinet Saxophone and Flute on a one to one basis, as well as group tuition and coaching for Music Theory, GCSE and A level.

Music tuition is provided strictly in accordance with ISM recommendations. All ages and levels of ability are welcome. Many styles of music from jazz improvisation, rock/pop to classical genres are catered for as well as coaching towards accredited examinations and diplomas by all the major examination boards.

Chris Murphy has maintained a 100% pass rate in music examinations since 1975 with over 60% of his students achieving passes with merit and distinction. He also has an exemplary record in preparing students for music competitions and auditions at music colleges and conservatoires throughout the U.K.
